What are web programs?
Web programs are computer programs that run over the internet. Just like the programs you run on your computer, web programs can help you organize information, make calculations and much more. But since they run over the internet, they can be used from any place in the world where you can connect to the internet. You can decide who has access to them, so they can be used only by the people who you want. For example, if you have a web-based accounting program for your business, you probably only want your employees to see it.
If your curious about the kinds of things we do with web programs, see the
Possibilities
section. You can also see some

of web programs that we've made.
Possibilities
Web progams can be used for most anything you can imagine. One of the most common use of web programming languages is to build what's known as a "database driven website". This means that the content of the website resides in a database (a number of tables), and scripting languages are used to extract the data from the database and send it in the format of a web page upon request. The advantage of having a database driven website is that it is very easy to change. We build databasee driven websites complete with content management tools so that the owner can change the content of the website quickly and easily without knowning anything about the technical aspects of web publishing.
Web progams can also be used to build such tools as:
Mailing Lists
Blogs
Buisness Management Tools
Shopping Carts
Image Managers
Q/A Forums
FAQs
Bulletin Boards
...and much more. If you think it, we can probably build it.
Examples
Our Image Manager is an example of a web program that can be used to manage and display images. It has two parts: the Manager interface, where you can upload images, organize them into categories, decide which categories will be visible to visitors, and put captions on your images; and a Viewer interface that people visiting your website use to view the images you want them to see.
